Frequently Asked Questions

Does Personnel Relocations staff physically attend inspections on our behalf if we’re not in the location?

We shortlist properties with you, and our local consultant will attend the inspection, sending us videos and photos of the property.

How many rental applications are included, and is there a limit on support Personnel Relocations offers?

There is no limit to the rental inspections.

Regarding a limit on support, waiting for furniture deliveries is outside the scope of work. In many cases, the delivery team needs to see the credit card used to pay for the goods.

We can assist with overseeing a mattress delivery, picking up groceries or purchasing linen if you are going directly from the airport to the home, but this may fall outside the scope of work.

Does Personnel Relocations keeps working with us until we have a signed lease?

Yes, and even beyond this point.

You will sign a lease within 48 hours of being approved for a home, but there is still much to do afterwards, including collecting keys, connecting utilities, and assisting you with other information, such as your tax number and Medicare.

What percentage of Personnel Relocations' clients secure a rental before or within two weeks of arrival?

This depends on your financial and personal circumstances. For example, having no job, very little financial backing, or perhaps too many pets can make it more difficult to get an application ahead of the competition for a property.

In any event, due to our competitive rental market, we usually commence inspections 4-6 weeks before arrival. This gives us a two-week buffer and time to connect utilities, etc.

Since 2008, I have never failed to meet this timeline. Someone trying to secure a rental in just 2 weeks will have very few properties to choose from in such a tight area.

If you plan to arrive and inspect properties yourself or with us, you will need to book longer accommodation.

As you may have seen on our website, we have an almost 100% success rate in getting our clients shortlisted for homes. This is because we spend a large portion of time helping you prepare your rental application. The application process is highly automated; if your rental application is not prepared correctly, inspections won’t matter because you will not be approved.

Will Personnel Relocations speak directly with agents to strengthen our application as an overseas applicant?

Yes, but first, your application needs to be presented properly. Agents are more likely to shortlist a prospective tenant for a home if they are represented by a relocation company because agents know we bring professional tenants.
